Makenna loved Cat in the Hat Day at preschool so much that she decided she wanted a Cat in the Hat birthday party. She made it very clear that she did not want any of the other Seuss characters, "JUST Cat in the Hat.....the black one with the tail and, maybe, his 1-2 things". She was also dead set on having her party at Tumble Time "just like Kylee". This was the easiest party I've ever planned. We encouraged the kids to wear black, gave them hats, and provided face paint for those who wanted it. Other than that, we pretty much just set them loose in the gym and let them have at it. I felt like such a slacker keeping it so simple, but it was exactly what she wanted. Nine of her friends and six of her cousins came to celebrate with us. She was SO excited that her friends came!
Makenna talked about wearing a Cat in the Hat costume "with a tail" for weeks. She ended up wearing her costume for about 30 seconds before deciding she'd rather wear a black leotard (like Kylee) instead.
After the party, she gave the Cat a ride on the new bike she got from mommy and daddy.
