Pre-Christmas Pajama Party

Kylee loves pajama parties. So, I decided to make Christmas Eve a pajama day. We talked about the reason for the season and all that goes with it (Christmas = Jesus birthday, family gatherings = birthday parties for Jesus, etc.) We read the book This Is the Stable, and then the girls made a birthday cake for Jesus. We also talked a little about St. Nicholas and made cookies for Santa.

While we were waiting for the cake to cool and the cookies to finish baking, a couple of the neighbors brought over gifts for the girls. They got a baked apple treat and angel trinket boxes from Mr. Schmidet and received puppies that wiggle their tails (pictured above), chocolate Santas, and big chocolate ponies from the Wickers. The girls really appreciated it, especially the chocolate!

A few days before, they got plush monkeys from the Warkwicks. When we got home on Christmas night, there was a card a various baking goodies from the Lohmans on our porch. We have the BEST neighbors!! Kylee must have made an impression. Every neighbor that she caroled for brought the girls gifts.
