Last week we started talking about the letter 'd'. Due to play dates, birthdays, a trip to the museum, and life in general, we didn't do 'd' activities everyday. However, here is what we did do....
Kylee was feeling pretty lazy the first day. So, I let her lay around and watch a couple episodes of Dora and Diego. Eventually I talked her into going outside to dig in the dirt.
We spent a day talking about ducks. We went to the park we friends to feed the ducks. We read/sung "6 Little Ducks", waddled along to Laurie Berkner's "Quack, Quack, Waddle" song, and sung along to "Elmo's Ducks". Kylee made a duck painting by using a duck shaped cookie cutter as a stamper. She also made a duck foot painting using a spatula.
Another day was all about dinosaurs. We read about 10 of our dinosaur books. Kylee dug for dinos in her sandbox, sorted dinosaur toys into families, finished dinosaur color patterns, and made dinosaur stamp paintings. For lunch my little dinos had dinosaur shaped nuggets with a lake for dipping (blue colored ranch) and trees (broccoli and asparagus).
We also talked about diamonds. Kylee made diamonds by gluing matching triangles together. We learned new dances and played outside until it got dark.
