Birthday Bear

Baby Bear is 2!!! I can't believe it! 2! My baby (my last baby) is not a baby anymore. :( Her birthday fell on a Thursday (one of my usual work days). So, the plan was to take a few mylar Elmo balloons and some Elmo and Cookie Monster cupcakes (made by grandma) over to Ms. Linda's and have a mini Elmo party with her buddies, Rush and Mason. Unfortunately, my poor bear had a fever (a whopping 104 degrees at that!). So, instead of a party with friends, she got a sick day with mommy and trip to the doctor. :(

Despite a fever, soar throat, and ear infection, my tough cookie managed to have a little bit of fun on her birthday. When we got home from the doctor, she got a couple birthday gifts from mommy - a new basket ball goal (just her height), an Elmo shirt, and a Princess Presto dress up kit. She LOVES them! I got the cutest picture of her shooting hoops! Sadly, it was one of the pictures that got accidentally deleted.

We went to grandma's house for Makenna's birthday dinner (that she didn't quite feel up to eating). She decided to change into her Elmo shirt with a tutu and her Princess Presto cape for the occasion.

After dinner she got to open gifts from Grandma (an American Girl 'bitty baby' doll & accessories) and Aunt Michelle (Play and Shade pool & accessories).

Then we dug into the awesome cupcakes grandma made.

She was stuck home again Friday. Since it wasn't quite warm enough for water play, I filled her new pool with the balls from her party last year.
