On December 1st, we kicked off the advent season by putting up our Christmas decorations, reading
What is Christmas, watching clips from "The Santa Claus", visiting Santa at the Mattie Beal Home, making a special bedtime snack, and starting our Advent countdown calendars and storybook. Each morning the girls will be counting down to Christmas with a chocolate calendar, courtesy of Grammy. At night we will be counting up to Christmas with
The Advent Storybook and calendar. The storybook contains 24 mini stories (1 for each night until Christmas) that, together, tell the story of a little bear's journey to Bethlehem when Christ was born. In honor of the bear themed storybook, we made teddy bear pancakes.
On December 2nd, the first Sunday of Advent, we lit our first purple candle and started our weekly Advent lesson and activities. Details on those coming soon. :)
